With online shopping and digital music there is a lost social element that people are beginning to miss, which is why so many are turning back the clock to look for vinyl records for their collections and events where they can mingle in person with others that share their passions. Sam Carvajal, owner of CD Sam has decided to present a vinyl record event at the Wonderland of the Americas.
“I’ve been at this for twenty years,” says Carvajal, “and the renewed interest in vinyl didn’t really surprise me. There’s just something about the way a record plays that’s gritty and real. I figured this would be a fun way to get all of us record lovers together in one spot.”
The event will have vinyl records, both album and 45s, as well as, 8tracks, cassettes, toys, CD’s, and DVDs. There will be refreshments available provided by vendors and free parking for everyone in attendance. “I hope everyone comes out for it,” says Cavajal, “it’s going to be the first of its kind here in San Antonio and I expect this is something that may grow into an annual celebration. I want to get people excited and looking forward to Sounds on Wax events.”
The event’s location will be at the Wonderland of the America’s Mall in San Antonio Texas. The mall has been a local staple and often holds community events like the Sounds on Wax Record Show.
